4* International Event Rider based in Hertfordshire SG8. Anthony has many years' experience eventing and coaching at top level. The apprenticeship includes the possibility of travelling and grooming at shows. Also looking after a selection of livery horses. There is accommodation and own horse welcome if needed.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

Anthony Clark is an international 4-star event rider. He has a team of horses ranging from young ones to advanced/4-star horses.

Anthony has been eventing for over 30-years at all levels having won national awards. They are looking for a friendly candidate, that is willing to learn and has a passion for eventing.

He has also been on the silver medal winning European 3-star team 2015, Nations Cup teams and team training lists and show jumps and does dressage to Advanced level.

Yard duties will include:

  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Mucking out
  • Dealing with livery clients
  • Feeding, watering and haying
  • Grooming
  • Clipping and trimming
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
  • Bandaging
  • Tacking up
  • Lunging/long rein
  • Riding/hacking
  • Attending shows/events

Hours will vary in event season and standard hours on a rota basis with the team. The apprenticeship is work based and onsite at location. Accommodation on site and own horse welcome.

If you don't have your maths & English grades, we can support you to gain them whilst on programme.

The interview will consist of a trial day at the location. You must be competent at handling horses due to the calibre of horse you are having to deal with.

You must be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years or more to apply for this role. If you have a L2 or L3 Equine qualification already you are unable to apply for this programme.

  • An Equine Groom level 2 certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the apprenticeship
  • All training will take place within the workplace
  • Your dedicated trainer coach will visit you at work every 4 weeks

  • Maths (grade 4)
