A dynamic IT, Network Support, and Computer Repair firm located near Old Street is actively seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice or Junior Engineer. This opportunity is available on a full-time or part-time basis.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

On-the-job training and expectations:

  • Comprehensive training will be provided
  • Candidates should possess a genuine enthusiasm for IT and technology

Candidate Profile:

  • Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Professional and neat appearance with a smart casual dress code
  • Courteous, friendly, and easily approachable demeanour
  • Due to our work with educational institutions, a DBS check is mandatory

Technical Skills Required:

  • A strong passion for all aspects of IT
  • Proficiency in assembling PCs
  • Skilled in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
  • Competent in reinstalling the Windows Operating System and updating drivers
  • Familiarity with alternative operating systems (Mac and Linux) is advantageous
  • Experience with cloud services such as O365 and G-Suite is beneficial
  • Fundamental networking knowledge
  • Experience with Windows Server is considered a plus

  • Source and migrate data from already identified different sources.
  • Collect, format and save datasets.
  • Summarise and explain gathered data.
  • Blend data sets from multiple sources and present in format appropriate to the task.
  • Manipulate and link different data sets as required.
  • Use tools and techniques to identify trends and patterns in data.
  • Apply basic statistical methods and algorithms to identify trends and patterns in data.
  • Apply cross checking techniques for identifying faults and data results for data project requirements.
  • Audit data results.
  • Demonstrate the different ways of communicating meaning from data in line with audience requirements.
  • Produce clear and consistent technical documentation using standard organisational templates.
  • Store, manage and distribute in compliance with data security standards and legislation.
  • Explain data and results to different audiences in a way that aids understanding.
  • Review own development needs.
  • Keep up to date with developments in technologies, trends and innovation using a range of sources.
  • Clean data i.e. remove duplicates, typos, duplicate entries, out of date data, parse data (e.g. format telephone numbers according to a national standard) and test and assess confidence in the data and its integrity.
  • Operate as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Prioritise within the context of a project.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade 4)
