Summary
The Apprentice will work at the Hartree Centre, focusing on high-performance computing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence technologies. You will work with the impact and communications team to identify, analyse, and learn about the commercial impact of industry-focused activities at the Hartree Centre.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Embed learning to identify potential impacts from Centre-wide activities
- Explore and analyse impact data
- Build and maintain a system to capture market data both quantitatively and qualitatively
- Learn about the policy cycles of evaluation and develop knowledge around the evolving government guidance for evaluation techniques

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Course contents
- Liaise with and manage, clients, stakeholders, internal teams and external suppliers to deliver required outcomes.
- Undertake data collection, data analysis, data presentation and data storage including analysis and validation of the outputs from primary or secondary research data sources.
- Interpret, prepare and communicate research findings such as presentations, reports, and workshops.
- Make evidence-based recommendations from research results.
- Use communications skills and techniques such as negotiation, collaboration, problem solving, and decision making.
- Interpret research objectives and translate into research design and implementation.
- Use digital and IT software packages relevant to the role.
- Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation such as SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions).
- Select and use appropriate research design techniques.
- Evaluate data and research findings to derive insights to support improvements to future research projects.

Your training plan
Alongside this, you will undertake professional development and training through monthly interactive tutor-led classes supplemented with online learning tools and self-study materials completing Level 4 Market Research Executive Apprenticeship with The VQ Solutions.
The programme is 15 months long followed up by the End Point Assessment Period. Topics covered by the programme include:

At the end of your apprenticeship, you will undertake an End Point Assessment whereby you will complete a work-based project with a presentation and questions and answers. Following this, you will undertake a professional discussion with an independent assessor, supported by a portfolio of evidence generated throughout your apprenticeship.
Upon successful completion, you will achieve a Level 4 Market Research Executive Apprenticeship standard.
