Role Overview
We are looking for talented individuals to join our Finance team at our Actuation UK site. This is a great opportunity for you to broaden your personal development, experience exciting challenges and build the foundations of your career.
The challenges start on day one, as you will have the opportunity to build a deep knowledge of business imperatives and operational issues. The Finance function is a site based team who work closely with all areas of the business to deliver our strategic priorities with solutions that are linked directly to aerospace leadership using best-in-class Finance practices.
Upon joining the team your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Completion of monthly financial control processes such as journal and spreadsheet checks
The preparation of monthly accounts, including completing tasks on behalf of both the financial accounts and management accounts functions
Preparation and ownership of assigned balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with reviewing cost reduction activities, monitoring progress and inclusion in P&L, with all departments aligned
Assistance with Sarbanes Oxley self-assessment audits & documentation
Work with the programs, engineering, operations and commercial teams to create a financial bid model through to completion
Ad hoc projects where required
As part of the apprenticeship, you will complete Level 3 Assistant Accountant (AAT). To support your learning the apprenticeship programme is well structured in order for you to complete a wide range of rotations across financial disciplines that ensure a broad depth of knowledge and the opportunity to gain real practical experience.

Course contents
- Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
- Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
- Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
- Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
- Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Your training plan
BPP apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry-experienced training team. Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English and Maths (grade 5 or above)

After the completion of your Level 3 apprenticeship in finance, we will look to embed you into a permanent role within our vast finance department. We will then support you through ongoing development opportunities and further learning in order to gain professional charter ship.
