Summary

We are recruiting a Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop practical, hands-on skills and build a career in industrial maintenance. You will be studying towards a Level 3 Maintenance and Operations engineering technician and the course is expected to last 36 months.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Assist in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems.
  • Learn and apply technical skills to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Support in the installation, calibration, and testing of machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance records and document repairs, installations, and equipment performance.
  • Participate in safety meetings and adhere to safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Work under the guidance of senior mechanics and technicians to complete assigned tasks.
  • Follow work orders and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all machinery operates efficiently.
  • Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory and order parts when necessary.
  • Perform routine inspections of equipment and machinery to detect potential issues and notify senior mechanics.
