Summary
The Apprentice Assistant Accountant role has a real responsibility, working to support the Financial Controller with day-to-day processing in the finance function. Your role contributes to the efficiency of the organisation through the processing and matching of transactions, identifying and troubleshooting differences.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
· Processing UK Parts Centre invoices onto our finance system.
· Matching UK Parts Centre invoices against purchase orders through our system.
· Goods Received Not Invoiced processing and maintenance.
· Process intercompany invoices through stock mark-up procedure.
· Investigating differences and anomalies on the above tasks with the Financial Controller.
· Supporting Intercompany reconciliations with the Assistant Accountant.
· Provide holiday cover and support over busy periods to the Accounts Payable team.
· Undertake a Level 2 Finance Assistant Apprenticeship, completing set modules on time and attending college as necessary.
· Use of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
· Learn Crown administrative procedures, and how to use in house and partner software.
· This role is expected to evolve over time, taking on more responsibilities as skills are developed. One area this role would look to expand into is support for day-to-day fleet management.

- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
