Summary

The Accounts Payable Administrator will report into the Accounts Payable Supervisor working in a highly knowledgeable and established Finance Team. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

This role will be responsible for, but not limited to the day-to-day running of the accounts payable department, which includes but not liimited to, posting of all accounts payable invoices for UK and Ireland, chasing invoice splits from various departments, new supplier invoice form checks and setting up all suppliers, chasing of invoices, daily reconciliations of supplier statements, supplier payment runs, uploading bank statements and posting of cash payments, uploading payroll/contractors payments and weekly staff expenses.

  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
