Summary
We are looking for an Apprentice Sports Coaches to work as part of our team. Our team of professional, inspiring and knowledgeable Coaches work with children in Primary Schools delivering sport through a variety of activities. We are offering a NVQ LEVEL 2/3 Community Sports & Health Officer + NVQ 2/3 P.E & School Sport + NGB Courses (Level 1 & 2)

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Successful candidates will work with our team of Coaches in delivering sporting activities to children in Primary schools in Stockport, Manchester, Trafford and Tameside. S/he will do this through a variety of roles:
- Coaching duties and responsibilities
- Lunchtime Activity Leader: Organise, set up and run different games and activities at lunchtimes for children in local Primary Schools.
- After-School Clubs Sports Coach- Plan and deliver exciting, engaging and age-appropriate sports sessions to children in local Primary schools alongside other Coaches.
- P.E Lesson Assistant- Assist a Coach in the delivery of P.E lessons from our curriculum to children in local Primary schools and Nurseries.
- Holiday Camps Coach- Deliver exciting and engaging Sports sessions during the School Holidays at our Holiday Camps, whilst ensuring the safety and care of all Children at all times.
Office Duties and Responsibilities
As well as s/he delivering sports sessions s/he may be asked to fulfil certain office duties as part of the role:
- Planning- All of the sessions that are delivered are to be planned and evaluated using our lesson plan templates and lesson structure.
- NVQ LEVEL 2/3 Community Sports & Health Officer + NVQ 2/3 P.E & School Sport + NGB Courses (Level 1 & 2)- Complete your theory work to support your NVQ qualifications & theory work when undertaking Sports NGB qualification.

- Successful application of tactics and strategies to empower people from inactive and hard to reach populations to take up an active lifestyle
- Successful application of a range of approaches that bring about changes in attitudes and behaviours within target communities
- Supporting people within target communities to become involved in the preparation, planning and delivery of sport and active lifestyles
- Using local insight and customer-orientated marketing skills to attract high priority groups into existing leisure, parks and sport infrastructure
- Negotiation, lobbying and brokerage skills with local partners across public health, community development and anti social behaviour
- Demonstrate clear and effective communication techniques in order to give/receive information accurately and in a timely and positive manner
- Problem solving and effective decision making with regards the design and implementation of sport and physical activity programmes
- Writing successful funding bids to enable new, different or more opportunities to take place for sport and physical activity
- Managing disruptive behaviour of clients and customers before, during and after activities
- Managing and adapting personal behaviours to ensure provision is inclusive, customer-focused and accessible
- Building partnerships and developing meaningful relationships with local partners and stakeholders in sport and physical activity
