Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Create promotional and marketing content for social media platforms, websites, and static webpages
  • Build strategies and campaigns for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Interview staff members and other related stakeholders to gather insight and content
  • Assist in planning, promoting, and attending events for networking
  • Create testimonials and media campaigns to promote the company’s work and events
  • Design and execute leaflets and small-scale strategies
  • Use tools such as Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and text media to enhance website content and SEO
  • Assist with the training of staff across the company, to increase their knowledge, engagement and familiarity with social media

  • Interpret the aims of the brief.
  • Research ideas and concepts to meet the brief.
  • Evaluate brand requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Prepare a mood board or other visual aid for the content to be created.
  • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed.
  • Storyboard and outline script their ideas for content to be developed.
  • Interpret data, consider its integrity and use it to inform content.
  • Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
  • Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
  • Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
  • Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
  • Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; using industry standard packages to adapt and edit content.
  • Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content effectively, methodically and securely enabling efficient search and retrieval.
  • Identify and recommend the platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers, establishing and using professional contacts.
  • Engage and respond with audiences through social media, adapting content to respond to evolving circumstances.
  • Monitor user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement.
  • Analyse the differences between audiences using audience segmentation techniques and data.
  • Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the content and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns.
  • Use continuing professional development planning to support own current and future training and development needs.
  • Operate effectively within the production workflow to meet production timelines.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade A*-C/4-9)
  • Maths (grade A*-C/4-9)

About this company

Veterans at Ease is a military mental health charity that provides therapy to the men and women who, having served our country, are now struggling with mental health issues, including combat-related stress. In addition to helping serving military personnel (regulars and reservists) and Veterans, we also support the family members. To support our charity, we also have a social enterprise, comprising 10 traditional charity shops and 4 therapy centres spread across the North East and East Anglia.

Company benefits

This post includes 20 days of holiday leave per annum plus the statutory bank holidays (pro-rata in line with the starting date). Holiday entitlement runs from 1st April to 31st March each year.

After this apprenticeship

  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is the potential for full-time employment or progression to an advanced apprenticeship
