Summary
We are looking to appoint an excellent teaching assistant, to support teaching and learning, who is passionate about education, resilient in their goal for continued self-improvement and who fosters a love of learning in children. (Subject to a 3 month probation period).

Wage for this role is FTE £11,680. Due to the term time only nature of the role actual wage is £9,318. Hourly rate is £6.40.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Be aware of all policies and procedures relevant to child protection and comply with them
- Attend relevant staff meetings and training as required
- Support, promote and develop the Jewish ethos of the school and act as a positive role model in the school community
- Develop a positive relationship with individual pupils
- Supervise and provide particular support throughout the day (including lunch period)
- Supervise pupil Breakfast Club
- Deliver specific intervention programmes to individuals or groups of pupils under the direction of the teacher and other senior leaders
- Liaise with other members of staff
- Provide practical help to ensure the pupil’s safety and well-being in activities such as PE or on school trips
- Supervise and support pupils to ensure their safety and access to the curriculum
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of pupils with high level needs amongst peers
- Monitor pupils’ responses to learning tasks
- Support the use of technology in learning tasks
- Administer medication to pupils whilst following strict safety procedures
- Work alongside other members of staff in the setting to monitor individual pupils closely and provide feedback to parents and other professionals
- Keep clear records of interventions carried out with individual pupils
- Support pupils in the classroom to participate fully in all activities
- Attend class trips
- Contribute to maintaining an engaging and well-ordered learning environment within classes
- Take and lead phonics groups using Read Write Inc
