Summary
We are searching for an apprentice groom to join our team and assist with horse care, riding, instructing and coaching. You will carry out day to day care of the horses and equipment along with feeding and care of competition horses.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Care of horses and equipment
- Mucking out
- Feeding
- Grooming
- Tacking up
- Assisting with lessons
- Mounting and dismounting
- Leading
- Supporting riders to achieve their goals
- Riding different types and levels of horses to maintain and improve training
- Care and preparation of competition horses
- Assisting with professionals such as vets, farriers and physiotherapists
- Grooming at shows for the right candidate

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship.
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and onsite visits throughout the apprenticeship.
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.

Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- Maths and English (grade C or 4)
