Summary
In this role, you will provide essential Accounts Payable data inputs, bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, and VAT. You will also receive training on month end close procedures such as accruals and prepayments, forecasting and management account reporting and year end statutory accounts preparation.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping and data entry
- VAT
- Payroll
- Assist with month-end procedures and management reporting
- Assist with preparation of year-end accounts

- Meticulous attention to detail
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to support the team where needed
- Committed and reliable—strong team collaboration and communication skills
- Highly organised, with ability to effectively balance deadlines and manage workloads
- Confident in using various software, with a quick aptitude for learning new systems (experience with Xero is an advantage but not essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Process-oriented with a focus on accurate record-keeping and adhering to procedures
- Conscientious and self-motivated to study for exams

Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan
This is an Accountancy Apprenticeship, delivered by West London College from our Ealing Green Campus. You will be required to attend day release, one day a week for approxmately 13 months. As this qualification is governed by AAT, you will be required to complete and pass modules covering double entry book-keeping and accounting practice. If necessary, you will also need to complete Functional Skills in maths and English.

After this apprenticeship
If you complete the Accountancy Level 2, you will have the opportunity to undetake the Level 3 and possibly to Level 4 and persue a career in accoutancy with Sytrus
