An exciting opportunity to join the team at PVSL as an Apprentice Welder, undertaking stainless steel pipe and stainless steel frame fabrications in the workshop and installations around the UK for the food and drink industry.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Under the supervision of our workshop foreman, the candidate will learn how to:

  • Cut
  • TIG weld
  • Fabricate stainless steel frames and pipework for the food and drink industry
  • Bolt together and fit liquid process components such as pumps/valves and control instruments to pipework and vessels

Our apprentice will learn to roll, weld and fabricate stainless steel sheets to form cylindrical tanks and other folded parts.

Under the supervision of the foreman to attend sites to carry out general servicing and installations on-site throughout the UK.

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will receive a Level 2 Engineering Operative - Fabrication & Welding qualification. 

  • You will be required to attend Advance 2 Campus, Dudley College 1 day per week as part of your apprenticeship

  • Fork Lift Truck 
  • Abrasive wheel
  • Confined space
  • IPAF
  • Ladders and step ladders
  • CSCS

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 3)
  • Maths (grade 3)
  • Fab & Weld (grade N/A)

Other requirements

PVSL is a small company and are project driven so the candidate should be flexible and willing to work additional hours when required to help complete workshop deadlines and rearranged shutdowns, to carry out installations on site which may involve some weekends from time to time.
