You'll also deliver 1st line support for our clients. Our service desk operates between 5.30am - 5.30pm, 7 days a week, 364 days a year. We share workloads and balance out of hours/unsociable working, further information about this will be provided. Days and shifts TBC.

What does the role involve?

The first skills that a consultant needs to develop is the ability to listen and understand a customers problem. Therefore, you'll start your journey on our support desk where you'll talk to our customers, create tickets and as your knowledge and skills grow resolve issues that have with their Qlik applications and dashboards. 

From there you'll join project teams and work at every stage of the data and project lifecycle.

  • At all times you'll be expected to communicate professionally and work collaboratively and transparently with your colleagues and our customers

Requirements

First and foremost, you must be interested in working collaboratively to support our clients and solve real world business problems. In addition, you'll have:  

  • Proven interest in data analysis (this could be from formal studies, self-study or the workplace)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented and strong attention to accuracy and completeness
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve technical and professional skills
  • Competency with Microsoft office applications including Excel
  • Some experience of using data tools (e.g. SQL, Python, visualisation tools such as Qlik / Power BI / Tableau etc) would be an advantage but not essential

Course contents
  • Use data systems securely to meet requirements and in line with organisational procedures and legislation including principles of Privacy by Design
  • implement the stages of the data analysis lifecycle
  • apply principles of data classification within data analysis activity
  • analyse data sets taking account of different data structures and database designs
  • assess the impact on user experience and domain context on data analysis activity
  • identify and escalate quality risks in data analysis with suggested mitigation or resolutions as appropriate
  • undertake customer requirements analysis and implement findings in data analytics planning and outputs
  • identify data sources and the risks and challenges to combination within data analysis activity
  • apply organizational architecture requirements to data analysis activities
  • apply statistical methodologies to data analysis tasks
  • apply predictive analytics in the collation and use of data
  • collaborate and communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders using appropriate styles and behaviours to suit the audience
  • use a range of analytical techniques such as data mining, time series forecasting and modelling techniques to identify and predict trends and patterns in data
  • collate and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and convert into infographics, reports, tables, dashboards and graphs
  • select and apply the most appropriate data tools to achieve the optimum outcome

Your training plan

As part of the Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship standard, you’ll be registered as a member with the British Computer Society and be on a fast track to an industry recognised qualification and your dedicated industry coach will support you through a blended approach that will include remote, in person, 1-2-1 and group learning. 

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • 7 GCSE's including Maths and English (grade A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent))

A Level or equivalent in:

  • Maths, Science, Computer Science or similar (grade A - C)
