Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Observing various members of the current coaching team to gain experience
- Assisting in planning and preparing PE lessons, lunch and after school clubs for Primary school aged children
- Setting up and clearing away equipment for lessons
- Teaching Lunch and after school clubs independently once confident enough to do so
- Coaching alongside qualified coaches within PE lessons, lunch clubs, after school clubs and at holiday courses
- Coaching alongside qualified members of the team at our Wrap around clubs

Community Activator Coach Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:
- On successful completion of this apprenticeship the Community Activator Coach will be eligible to become an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and
Physical Activity (CIMSPA) - Training will take place within the workplace with a blend of online learning & face to face assessments visits
- Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths will be provided for those without GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) if required
