Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Complete a CAT A1 training course here with us at our Luton and/or Kemble training academy over a 9-month period
- Between months 10 and 24 you’ll continue your learning by working full time at Luton or Gatwick
- You will build the evidence and practical knowledge to secure your UKCAA and EASA Part-66 Category A1 modules - and pass the end point assessment that will allow you to be a licensed engineer.

Should you wish to apply for the apprenticeship, you will move through the 6-stage process outlined below. You are assessed at each stage of the process and should you meet the required standard, you will be progressed to the next stage.
Stage 1: Online Application
You will be asked to complete a short application to express your interest in the apprenticeship.
Stage 2: Pre-screening Questions
You will next be asked to complete an online form which asks a series of questions relating to you, your prior attainment and experience.
Stage 3: Introduction Video
The next step requires you answering 3 questions about yourself on our video interview platform. This gives you an opportunity to show us your personality and for us to get to know you better. Just be yourself.
Stage 4: Online Aptitude Tests
You will then be sent a link to take part in our aptitude tests. The tests assess you in 3 areas, Numerical, Verbal and Abstract reasoning.
Stage 5: Telephone/Video Interviews
This stage requires you taking part in an interview with a member of the recruitment team. This will be conducted on the telephone or on a video platform such as Teams or Zoom. You will be asked a series of questions to ascertain your suitability for the role.
Stage 6: Assessment Day
Should you meet the required standard of the stages outlined above, you will then be invited to an Assessment Day event which marks the final stage of the recruitment process.
