Summary

You will work under the guidance & supervision of the Site Manager & Senior Site Supervisor to assist with the planning, coordination, and oversight of construction projects. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in managing various aspects of a construction site, including safety, scheduling, materials, labour, and quality control.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Assist the Site Supervisor in daily on-site operations and ensure that all work is carried out according to plans and specifications
  • Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site workers to ensure efficient workflows
  • Monitor the progress of construction activities to ensure that milestones are met on time and within budget
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and report hazards or violations to the Site Supervisor
  • Help maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, material usage, and labour hours
  • Help monitor the quality of materials and workmanship on-site, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards
  • Help coordinate the arrival and use of machinery, equipment, and supplies to avoid delays
  • Assist in liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders as required

  • Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
  • Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
  • Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
  • Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
  • Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
  • Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE in:

    The role involves working on construction sites, which may require working outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry materials, stand for extended periods, and navigate around the construction site. Ability to communicate both verbally and electronically

    Breck Homes specialises in sourcing and purchasing a diverse range of development sites, be it brown or greenfield. We have the expertise and experience to develop the land in a cost-efficient way. We source development sites ranging from 20 to 250 homes. The Apprentice Site Supervisor works under the guidance and supervision of the Site Manager or Senior Site Supervisor to assist with the planning, coordination, and oversight of construction projects. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in managing various aspects of a construction site, including safety, scheduling, materials, labour, and quality control. The apprentice will gradually take on more responsibilities as they develop the skills and knowledge required to effectively supervise a construction site.

    After this apprenticeship

    Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship program, there may be opportunities for promotion to a full-time Assistant Site Supervisor or other roles in construction project management.
