Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- You’ll be working directly with clients, using your judgement and expertise to help them to understand the story behind their numbers and make business decisions
- Carry out a range of tasks such as bookkeeping, payment runs and VAT returns
- Monitoring reports to ensure a high level of accuracy, and offering your insights of where improvements could be made
- Supporting a portfolio of clients, from high fashion to tech agencies using Xero
- Communicating openly and honestly with the team both internally and externally at every level, and willingly sharing ideas to improve the business
- Working within a team to ensure that deadlines are met and work is prioritses accordingly

Your training plan
You'll complete the Association of Accounting Technicians Level 3 Accounts Assistant qualification over the course of 12-14 months.
This will be completed in partnership with our training provider, First Intuition. You'll spend 20% of your time, or one day a week on studying, with any extra time off needed for exams.

We're a self managed business. This means you'll be trusted to manage your work and make decisions. This comes with a higher level of responsibility but you'll also have a direct impact on the success of the business. The office is based on Greenway Farm, Wick, so please ensure you can attend the office regularly and reliably.

After this apprenticeship
You'll have the freedom to drive your own career. Once you've completed your AAT Level 3, you'll move onto Level 4, and then have the opportunity to complete a Chartered Accountant qualification.
But the opportunities don't stop there. If there is an aspect of the business that you enjoy, then you will be free to explore it. If this requires more training then we are happy to invest. Whether it's technical (eg. coding) or soft skills (eg. coaching), you'll only be limited by your own ambition.
