We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant. If you are looking for a career in education, this is a great opportunity to earn whilst you learn. Duties include learning about the classroom environment and working towards delivery in the classroom. We are looking for someone who can motivate our students.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

- Learning about the classroom environment and working towards delivery in the classroom
- How to engage learners and support their learning
- The importance of curriculum and different delivery styles
- Learning resources - how to use them to support learners
- Designing lesson plans
- Record keeping
- Behaviour management
- Pastoral support for learners

- Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
- Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- Functional Skills (grade Level 2 - Grade C/4 or above)

Applicants will be asked to undertake assessments during the interview screening process and will be required to demonstrate a level of competence, to qualify for employment within Nova Training. No official experience necessary but must have a genuine desire to support and encourage learners learning journey.
About this company
Nova was established as a Private Training Provider in September 1992 and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2022. We are part of the recruitment agency Staff Select Ltd. Over the years Nova has operated a number of youth and adult training programmes and also delivered employer led programmes and qualifications such as NVQ's and Apprenticeships. Our Head Office has always remained in Willenhall Town Centre (within Walsall Local Authority). Historically we have delivered training programmes across all four Black Country Local Authorities. In 2001 we opened our first centre outside the Black Country, setting up a motor vehicle workshop in Telford.
