Number 8 Hairdressing in Truro are offering a fantastic opportunity to gain a Level 2 Hair Professional Apprenticeship for a punctual, reliable, friendly individual to join them in their calm and creative Truro salon. The successful candidate will be assisting and learning from the experienced stylists within the team.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Daily duties to include but not limited to:
- Assisting stylists with day to day tasks such as colours, foils, washing and blow drying.
- Ensuring that the salon is in a good state and products and equipment are in well stocked and in good order.
- Working as part of a friendly team.
- Taking responsibility for good time management.
- Using own initiative under the guidance of stylists.
- Ensuring the needs of clients are met and they receive the best possible care and treatment whilst visiting the salon.

You will be working towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Hairdressing, including Functional Skills if required.
This apprenticeship consists of a mixture of off the job training and on the job mentoring and development within the workplace
You will be expected to attend Cornwall College Camborne or St Austell on a weekly basis, with additional attendance if functional skills are required

College attendance is required one day a week at the Cornwall College Camborne or St Austell.

Other requirements
You must be willing and able to leave your phone alone during work hours. Grade 4/C in English and Maths preferred but lower grades will be considered for the right candidate if willing to attend functional skills block weeks to work towards a Level 2 qualification. You must have the ability to travel to Truro and to college one day per week.
