Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
This role includes;
- Work as part of our care staff team supporting our service users with their day to day activities including personal care.
- To help our service users make informed and independent choices whilst following their person centered care plans.
- Promote a healthy and active lifestyle
- Encouraging and supporting independence and social skills in the wider community.
- Participate in a varied range of household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping etc.
- Achieving the highest possible standards in hygiene practice.
- Support our service users to have access to and receive the healthcare, emotional and psychological support they need.
- Follow instruction from your shift leader or manager where you may be asked to work independently or part of a team.
- Act as a Keyworker for one of the residents and completing their daily care records.
- Transport our services users to their appointments, activities and on day trips in our small, manual, wheelchair adapted vehicles (not mini buses).

This involves regular catch-ups, check-in emails and calls. Your employer will agree to give you 20% of your working hours solely towards your study.
This will give you every chance to achieve the highest grade possible! On completion of this 12 month apprenticeship you will have gained; Adult Care Worker - Level 2 Apprenticeship, including Functional Skills in English and maths if required

Working hours Please note that anyone under the age of 18 can only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours should be amended accordingly, to fall in line with the legislation.
