Summary

The successful candidate will learn and be responsible for a variety of marketing functions within the business, and support the marketing team with branding, social media and written content for our website plus support the Business delivery team maintaining, creating and improving management information.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Research and create engaging content for publication
  • Updating Social Media Channels
  • Marketing on blogs and written content
  • Analysing activities on Adwords and SEO
  • Updating a variety of websites using WordPress and adding regular content
  • Monitor and track campaign results
  • Organising and producing reports
  • Provide support to the team and all other admin tasks
  • Source data from already identified, trusted sources in secure manner
  • Blend data by combining data from various sources and formats to explore its relevance for business needs
  • Validate results of analysis using various techniques
  • Communicate results verbally, through reports and technical documentation
  • Store, manage and share data securely
  • Work with colleagues to understand the purpose and related process of different data requests to ensure requirements are fulfilled

Course contents
  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.
  • Your training plan

    • Apprentice Standard Multi Channel Marketer Level 3 includes End Point Assessment
    • 1 day per week at Sheffield College City Campus in term time

    Knowledge content includes:

    • Module 1- BCS principles of coding exam
    • Module 2- BCS Marketing Principles
    • Module 3- Google IQ

    Essential qualifications

    GCSE in:

    • English (grade 4)
    • Maths (grade 4)

    Other requirements

    You will be working as part of a small team and in addition to managing social media channels and the website, you will produce a variety of reports and work closely with the managers responsible for both Adwords and SEO which will enable you to gain experience in these areas too. Other considerations: Computer Skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly word and Excel Good level of written and verbal English Willing to follow instructions and learn with a positive attitude An interest in graphic design would be useful but not essential
