Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Provide individual or small group support to pupils, helping them to achieve their learning targets.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting engagement and motivation in learning activities.
- Assist in the personal, social, and emotional development of children, offering pastoral support where needed.
- Help to manage behaviour in the classroom, using positive reinforcement techniques and ensuring a safe, respectful environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to prepare lesson materials and resources.
- Assist with lesson delivery, ensuring that students understand and follow instructions.
- Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and any observed learning needs.
- Supervise students during break times, on school trips, or in other activities as required.
- Deliver interventions and tailored learning support for pupils with additional learning needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs).
- Assist with literacy, numeracy, or other targeted curriculum areas under the teacher’s guidance.
- Use technology and resources effectively to support learning.
- Help maintain a tidy, organised classroom environment.
- Contribute to record-keeping, including attendance, assessments, and observations.
