You would work at the heart of a busy college’s central data systems where your accurate input and maintenance of student and enrolment details would play a key part in ensuring quality service for learners, visitors, partner employers and staff.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Key duties/responsibilities include;
- To take responsibility for the accurate input and maintenance of student and enrolment details onto the student records system
- To support the effective production of regular ILR submissions and prepare data sources to deadline
- To assist in data quality checks to improve data quality and optimise funding using internal and external software
- To liaise with curriculum areas to support awareness of College processes, to promote accuracy, and to evidence learner attendance and eligibility
- To support other functions within the team as required, this may include assisting with; invigilating; rooming enquiries and course set up and checks
- To perform clerical duties including filing, photocopying, production of letters and reports
- To support the organisation and maintenance of College administrative systems
- To maintain paper based and computer systems including data entry and analysis
- To work as a team member providing College Assistant cover when necessary
- To carry out all duties in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations with a full regard to Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities legislation.
- To undertake training as required for the performance of the role to the necessary standard and take responsibility for self-development in line with College strategic aims.
- To provide cover for others with similar posts as required.
- To assist in a programme of training and support with College staff to improve accuracy and raise standards
- To assist in the validation of College data to ensure it is fit for purpose and contributes to accurate performance measures
- To carry out any other duties which may arise which are commensurate with the post and conditions of service

Your training plan
The apprentice will receive training from a workplace mentor and a vocationally competent assessor towards the Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard.
Along with all college employees, they will undertake continuing professional development activities throughout the year, which will include mandatory training such as Health and Safety, Keeping Children Safe in Education, Safeguarding and Prevent. They will also attend whole college Staff Development and Staff Welfare days.
