Apprentice Engineer required to join this busy and steadily growing engineering company who manufacture traction sheaves, diverter pulleys and offer lift repairs to many of the leading UK lift companies.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The apprentice will work alongside experienced Mechanical Engineers to learn the following:

  • House to use Lathes, turn and mill
  • How to read tolerances
  • Fit bearings ad make shafts 
  • Learn how to fix diverter wheels and well make new ones from castings from scratch.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
