The successful candidate will enrol onto a Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant apprenticeship. Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Using systems, processes and technology to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently.
- Running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct.
General data entry.
Preparing payment runs for approval.
Creating and processing invoices.
Payroll administration. - Assist with monthly VAT and various filings and related reconciliation.

Your training plan
- The successful apprentice will work towards a Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant apprenticeship standard, as well as Functional Skills Maths and English if needed. Day to day training will be conducted by the employer.
Qualifications:
Apprentices will be required to take one of the professional qualifications listed below, as chosen by the employer to be most relevant to the job role:
AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
ACCA Certificate in financial and management accounting (level 2)
IAB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping
ICB Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping
Accounts or finance assistant / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade 9 to 4 (A* to C))
- Maths (grade 9 to 4 (A* to C))
