Getinge Ltd have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to kickstart their career in Engineering and join their team as a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician. They are a global medical device manufacturer supplying equipment to the NHS and medical, pharmaceutical and laboratory companies.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- This role will be based at both Manchester Royal Infirmary and Chorley

Daily duties to include;

Routine reactive breakdowns of our range of washer disinfectors, AERs and autoclaves

Weekly water sampling of the AERs at Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI) and Trafford General hospitals.

Assisting the site-based engineer at the MRI managing the service contract we have in place there.

Overseeing quarterly and annual testing of all our infection control equipment. This involves temperature mapping of the standard machine cycles, cleaning efficacy test to prove the machines are cleaning properly and the generation of machine faults to show the machines fail as they should.

Using the IT packages to then produce weekly, quarterly, and annual test reports which are sent to our customer as validation documents.

Attending our Derby HQ for training courses, team meetings and induction.

Full range of electro/mechanical skills will be developed and learnt.

Apprentices will attend our Derby HQ for training courses, team meetings and their induction.
They will attend Hopwood Hall College in Middleton one day a week for their day release.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4/C or above)
- Maths (grade 4/C or above)
- Science (grade 4/C or above)
