Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Given the diverse nature of the work that the GCBI team is involved in, the role will be highly varied and the successful candidate will be working with all members of the team, supporting them in their day to day activities.
Throughout the training programme, the apprentice will have the opportunity to attend meetings and calls with a wide range of colleagues and clients from across the world, presenting an excellent opportunity to build their internal and external network from day one. The apprentice will help members of the team prepare for these meetings, as well as supporting them to ensure that the necessary follow up is completed.
Some of the additional roles that the apprentice will be performing in the first year or so of the programme will include, collating schedules of investment opportunities for clients, and supporting the team on pitches and sales that they are involved in across the business. In addition, the role will require an ability to help manage the data in the team- including compiling deal information, tracking client requirements, maintaining ownership and underbidder schedules.
As the apprentice progresses through the programme there will be the opportunity to take on considerably more responsibility and start performing tasks expected of a graduate. This will include working with clients more closely; working with members of Savills market teams to identify investment opportunities for GCBI clients; and taking an entrepreneurial approach to processes within the team, identifying ways the team can become more effective and efficient in the way they do business.
