Summary
Lincoln Security is searching for a enthusiastic, confident and friendly person to join our team as an Apprentice Trade Counter Assistant/Bench Locksmith. This is unique job opportunity. You will work at our retail trade counter serving customers, cutting keys and gaining valuable skills in the bench locksmith trade.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Your Day at the Retail Trade Counter:
- Become a Bench Locksmith. : Learn to cut all types of keys and create keys for various locks. Gain hands-on experience with key cutting machinery and locksmithing techniques. You will learn how to use small hand tools and carry out intricate work on locking mechanisms.
- Master Customer Service: Learn to deliver exceptional service to our retail trade counter customers. Assist them in finding the right products for their needs, offer expert advice, and complete transactions efficiently.
- Embrace Lifelong Learning: Develop a deep understanding of locks, padlocks, keys, UPVC mechanisms, safes, architectural ironmongery and more. Learn about stock ordering, stock control, warehousing and customer service. We will provide comprehensive training and mentorship to fuel your growth.
- IT Skills: You will be working daily on the PC. Inputting customer requests, job orders, emailing suppliers and replying to customers emails, taking payments using a till and computerised payment system.
- Training – Fully Subsidised/Paid for by us:
- First Year Training: Apprentice Trade Supplier (Level 2), GAI Foundation in Architectural Hardware.
- On-going training: Once above is complete, you will be expected to undertake the 2-year GAI Certificate in Architectural Hardware.

- Enjoys Problem-Solving: You have a natural curiosity and an interest in mechanical or moving parts.
- Is a Self-Starter: You can take initiative and keep yourself busy whilst also happy to follow instructions effectively.

- The successful candidate will work towards achieving their Apprenticeship Standard qualification in Trade Supplier Level 2
- A dedicated work-based trainer will be assigned to the candidate to provide them with support and guidance throughout the course.
- This is a predominantly work-based programme with college attendance required once a month. All learning will take place at the candidate's place of employment/College and within their contracted working hours.

We are looking to recruit a new member of staff for our busy retail trade counter at our Head Office in Lincoln to help serve our very valued, local tradesmen and our domestic customers.
