Summary
We are looking for an apprentice to work within our medical secretary team, working 32 hours per week, to provider general secretarial support to the clinical team involving word processing and general clerical duties.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Learn how to raise, proof read and send referrals using Gateway, a system for processing referrals.
- Learn how to raise, proof read and send referrals direct to hospitals and other healthcare providers.
- Manage all aspects of a medical secretary role including accurate copy typing and word processing service for the clinical team as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, filling in the detail for appropriate templates etc. in an accurate and quality manner, and sometimes subject to short deadlines
- To maintain and keep up to date data logs in computerised patient records.
- To maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
- To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
- To be able to prioritise workload.
- To initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others.
