Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The successful candidate will work alongside skilled operators in a variety of disciplines relating to sheet metal fabrication such as:

  • Operating CNC machinery
  • Pressing and forming of metal components for use in the automotive and construction industry
  • Welding using multiple methods such as MIG and TIG
  • Lean manufacturing and effective production methods

  • Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (Knowledge and Skills)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

Learning will take place in the workplace with the need to attend training at NSEGTA when required.

Established in 1984, Grenville Engineering entered the fabrication market with five shop floor staff and one of the first machines the company purchased was a manual punch and strippit machine. The company has achieved great milestones partnering with a leading company in the Earth moving industry since 1985.
