Summary

Join our production team as a General Nursery Worker in our Young Plants glasshouse. In this role, you will assist with the husbandry of plugs and liners, including tasks such as weeding, trimming, moving and watering plants. You will also support propagation department by sowing seeds, taking cuttings, and dividing grasses.

£15,704 to £25,396.80, depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

General nursery worker (young plants)

Working as part of the production team you will be helping to maintain our plugs and liners in our young plant’s glasshouse. You will also be working within the propagation room and the misting chambers at times supporting with our own crop production. The main area will be working in side a glasshouse for the majority of the working day.

The main duties will include.

-           Working within the young plants team to help with all crop husbandry of area

o          Weeding

o          Trimming

o          Moving

o          Watering

-           To help in the propagation department when required to seed sow, take cuttings and divide grasses

-           Helping to prepare plants for the potting process to ensure they are to the correct standard and picked in the correct order according to the potting plan

-           Adhering to all health and safety rules on site

-           To work as part of a team to be productive and motivated in all aspects of workload
