Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Content Creation and Management:

  • Develop SEO-optimised landing pages in conjunction with our sales team to promote our products and services
  • Create straight product information pages
  • Design pages that define problems and explain how we provide solutions
  • Write content tailored to our marketing personas, ensuring it resonates with their motivations and needs
  • Produce social media posts explaining product benefits to end users

Social Media Management:

  • Manage and grow Facebook, LinkedIn, and Mastodon pages, ensuring brand consistency and alignment with marketing objectives across all platforms
  • Drive traffic to landing pages and key blog/KB articles by strategically using social media posts to boost engagement and increase brand awareness
  • Foster engagement by actively participating in conversations, responding to comments, and sharing insights with the sales team to strengthen relationships with the audience
  • Monitor social media conversations for recurring pain points or trends, and communicate findings to the sales team to inform strategy and improve customer engagement

Market Monitoring and Intelligence:

  • Follow hosting-related topics on Mastodon and other relevant platforms to gather insights on market trends and customer pain points
  • Report relevant information to the sales team
  • Highlight areas where we can offer solutions
  • Identify unmet market needs and propose new solutions to address these gaps

Performance Metrics and Analysis:

  • Track the effectiveness of landing pages and social media campaigns
  • Provide actionable insights into what works and what can be improved.
  • Implement strategies to maximise engagement and conversions

Customer Engagement:

  • Understand motivations behind choosing Managed VPS and Enscale services by analysing customer personas
  • Engage with social media users discussing issues we can solve, sharing tailored responses that highlight our expertise
  • Monitor discussions on Facebook, Mastodon, and LinkedIn, providing valuable input where relevant and sharing market trends with sales

Onboarding Kit:

  • Work with our sales team to create an informative and engaging onboarding kit for customers
  • Ensure all contact details for all departments are listed

Course contents
  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

All training will be delivered online by Wise Origin, offering flexible, expert led instruction with interactive sessions and digital resources

Desirable qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • Maths and English (grade 4-9)
