What you’ll do at work
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Apprentice at FM4U Facilities Management, based in Dunston, Gateshead. The company are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join the finance team, who will fully support the apprentice throughout their apprenticeship. There is an excellent opportunity to progress and grow within the organisation for the right candidate who is motivated and willing to learn new skills.
Duties to include:
- Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders
- Raising purchase orders
- Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
- Processing receipts and expenses
- Raising sales invoices and credit notes
- Credit control
- Dealing with customer and supplier queries
Applicants should have good IT skills and the ability to use a range Microsoft programmes to include Word, Email etc, as well as good keyboard skills. Should also have an excellent telephone manner.
Probationary period applies.

Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade Grade 4 or above)
- Maths (grade Grade 4 or above)

Other requirements
Please ensure that you can travel to Dunston, Gateshead for a 8.30am start. Apprentice will be required to attend fortnightly day release at Access Training, Team Valley.
