Summary

Magna Cosma Casting is looking for an Apprentice Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. In this role, you’ll help design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes. Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll learn how to boost production efficiency, uphold quality standards, and support innovative engineering solutions.

Wage

£14,918.80 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Monday to Thursday, 8.30am - 5.00pm. Friday, 8.30am - 2.00pm. This role will move into a shift pattern.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

In this role, you will:

  • Support the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes
  • Assist the production team with troubleshooting and process optimisation
  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Gain hands-on experience with manufacturing tools, equipment, and software
  • Work alongside quality control teams and support process improvement projects
  • Learn how to maintain accurate quality records and follow control procedures
  • Be assigned a mentor while working on-site for guidance and development
  • Collaborate with professionals across engineering, Plant Management, and Customers
  • Focus on delivering high standards in cost, quality, and on-time delivery
  • Follow and promote all Health and Safety procedures

Health & Safety:

  • Promote and support the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies throughout the department and plant

Your training plan

  • This is a 4 year apprenticeship, where you will achieve a Level 3 Engineering Technician qualification
  • You will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Telford TF3 3AJ, full time for the first 7 months, followed by 4 days at the company and 1 day at the training centre for the remainder of the apprenticeship

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English, Maths and Science (grade grade 5 and above)
