Summary

An exciting opportunity to join our team as a degree apprentice. You will gain hands-on experience working on a range of surveying projects across the UK making use of technology such as drones, 3D laser scanners, satellite navigation systems, total stations and CAD whilst studying for a BSc (Hons) Surveying and Mapping Sciences.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

·         3D laser scanning of buildings and other structures

·         Topographic surveys for highways improvements and infrastructure developments

·         2D and 3D CAD drafting and modelling from point cloud data

·         Processing of survey data including control network adjustments, coordinate reductions and point cloud registrations

·         Aerial and Drone photogrammetry surveys

Training will take place at the University of East London, Docklands campus for 1 day per week. You will also receive one-to-one guidance from a work placed mentor throughout your programme.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 5 or above)
  • Maths (grade 5 or above)

Other in:

  • Maths or science preferred (grade 96 UCAS points)
