Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general administrative duties, including filing, answering phone calls, and responding to customer enquiries
  • Organise and schedule meetings, maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Support the team by managing office supplies and handling correspondence
  • Extract, process, and analyse data to support business objectives
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using tools like Excel and Power BI
  • Interpret data insights to inform business decisions

Requirements:

  • Interest in business administration and data analysis, with a passion for learning new skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar tools is beneficial
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail for accurate data interpretation
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal, for stakeholder engagement
  • Motivated to gain certifications and grow in the field of data analytics and administration
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required

Course contents
  • Source and migrate data from already identified different sources.
  • Collect, format and save datasets.
  • Summarise and explain gathered data.
  • Blend data sets from multiple sources and present in format appropriate to the task.
  • Manipulate and link different data sets as required.
  • Use tools and techniques to identify trends and patterns in data.
  • Apply basic statistical methods and algorithms to identify trends and patterns in data.
  • Apply cross checking techniques for identifying faults and data results for data project requirements.
  • Audit data results.
  • Demonstrate the different ways of communicating meaning from data in line with audience requirements.
  • Produce clear and consistent technical documentation using standard organisational templates.
  • Store, manage and distribute in compliance with data security standards and legislation.
  • Explain data and results to different audiences in a way that aids understanding.
  • Review own development needs.
  • Keep up to date with developments in technologies, trends and innovation using a range of sources.
  • Clean data i.e. remove duplicates, typos, duplicate entries, out of date data, parse data (e.g. format telephone numbers according to a national standard) and test and assess confidence in the data and its integrity.
  • Operate as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Prioritise within the context of a project.

Your training plan

  • Training Biweekly classes (length 3 hours) alternating between Data+ and Excel/Power BI (NB: Exams optional)

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
