Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

Family run livery and training yard based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire seeks equine groom apprentice. September start, or sooner for the right candidate.

Plenty of opportunities for the right candidate - 20 horse yard, excellent facilities, indoor stables, lunge pen, horse walker, indoor and outdoor arena. Riding a possibility.

Duties to include:

  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Mucking out
  • Dealing with livery clients
  • Feeding, watering and haying
  • Grooming
  • Clipping and trimming
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
  • Bandaging
  • Tacking up
  • Lunging/long rein

Must have previous experience in horse care and be a team player. Not accessible by public transport.

  • All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

There is no accommodation on site, and due to the yard's location, own transport is essential as there are no public transport links. Livery may be possible for your own horse.

After this apprenticeship
