Summary
We are a friendly Medical Practice based across two sites and aim to offer the highest level of medical care for the whole family. Due to having very successful previous apprentices, we would like to continue this way of training and pave the future for successful medical receptionists.

Course contents
- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
Your training plan
Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:
- This will all take place on site at St. Martins Gate Surgery
- It will be a mixxture of online and face to face tutorials and assessments
More training information
- You will have 6 hours per week set aside to complete any college work, attend tutorials and / or any other off the job tasks (such as in house training)

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 2)
- Maths (grade 2)

About this company
A friendly medical practice based across 2 sites. The main site is St. Martin's Gate at Turnpike House, situated at the bottom of Newtown Road. We have a branch surgery, which is located near to Tesco at St. Peter's. We aim to offer the highest level of medical care for the whole family. Patients are free to choose which doctor they wish to see for their routine appointments.
After this apprenticeship
- On successful completion of their apprenticeship there may be the opportunity for a full time permanent position and career progression within the organisation
