Summary

AAK are seeking to appoint an Engineering Apprentice who will play a vital role in the day to day running of our production. You will be responsible for ensuring allocated work is adequately completed. Communicate key engineering activities, ensure site health and safety procedures are maintained, and complete all paperwork.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • Daily responsibility to ensure allocated planned and unplanned work is adequately completed in a timely manner.
  • Effective communications regarding any key engineering activities.
  • Department and factory Health, Safety and Environment standards are maintained to achieve set objectives.
  • Ensure site Health, Safety and Environment procedures are adhered to and maintained.
  • Ensure all department and factory procedures are effectively maintained.
  • Promote and practice continuous improvement techniques to assist with factory performance.
  • Complete all paperwork and maintenance system documents to ensure correct operation of work orders, planned maintenance and stores booking procedures.
  • Ensure site GMP standards are strictly adhered to and maintain a “clean as you go” practice within your teams.
  • Follow Foreign Body Procedures to ensure there are no risks to product quality.

We currently have a team of 13 in our Engineering team, with hopes to grow this year. At the end of your apprenticeship if we have vacancies available there is the opportunity for a permanent position with AAK, however if no vacancies are available, your experience with our Engineering team here at AAK will set you up with all the necessary skills to be a standout candidate for other employers.
