Summary
Working with high precision tools you will be developed to combine traditional manual hand skills with modern technology to help maintain, service, repair and develop new and existing tools and dies to enable plant equipment to produce a range of high-volume parts on a daily basis in line with engineering specifications.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
Maintain, service, repair and develop new and existing tools and dies.
Assist with planned preventative maintenance activites, along with breakdowns and fault finding.
Craft precision tools and dies that are used to cut, shape, pierce and form metal and other materials in stamping and forming operations.
Also produce jigs and fixtures that hold metal whilst its machined, welded or drilled as well as produce, maintain service gauges and other measuring devices.
