Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fun and supportive team at a well established and professional dog day care.

Duties will include, but not limited to;

  • Welcoming dogs to the day care
  • Assisting with the supervision of the dogs
  • Ensuring a safe environment for the dogs
  • Maintaining the welfare of the dogs at all times
  • Dealing with any issues that may arise
  • Communicating with customers
  • General cleaning duties of the day care
  • Feeding and watering
  • Exercising
  • Cleaning faeces and urine appropriately

Your training plan

  • Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment
  • The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Animal Care Apprenticeship
  • The learner will be allocated an industry-specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on-site visits throughout the apprenticeship
  • The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English and maths (grade Grade C/4)
