Summary

We are looking for a customer focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Apprentice. You will handle sales order processing, manage customer queries, and ensure smooth order progression from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be organised, have strong communication skills, and be comfortable managing multiple tasks.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • Provide support and assistance to Customer Support and Department Responsibilities
  • Sales order processing and associated tasks.
  • Handle in-bound calls from customers regarding issues such as quotes, progress requests and complaints, in a polite and expedient manner.
  • Review internal stock requirements and order accordingly. 
  • Carry out any administration duties necessary to deliver an efficient and effective service.

  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Your training plan

This Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship includes regular training with South Staffordshire College. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

The apprentice will study the core knowledge, skills and behaviours as laid out in the delivery plan. This will include Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

Other requirements

Applicants must be aware that they will be required to attend an Information Advice and Guidance session at one of our Campuses (Tamworth, Lichfield, Cannock Chase Skills and Innovation Centre, or Rodbaston) in order to progress further in this vacancy. During the session, candidates must complete baseline assessments and will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the qualification. Driving License/Transport to the employer as there are no public transport routes
