Summary

The warehouse is a crucial part of the supply chain. Bridging the gap between the production of goods and their consumption, the warehouse allows products to be held securely, before being used on a range of wheelchair accessible cars offering mobility solutions for both drivers and passengers.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

You will be taught how the supply chain as a network works within Sirus Automotive, and why this is an integral role within the business for you to learn and encompasses everything from the delivery of car parts and materials from the supplier to the manufacturer. Through to its eventual delivery to be used on the production of the various disability cars, Sirus Automotive deliver to their customers.

  • Conduct risk assessments within the working environment.
  • Apply safe working practices in line with associated health and safety legislation and company policy.
  • Receive products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Store and pick products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Dispatch products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Your training plan

  • Sandwell College will be assigned to you to help support while completing your Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative
  • The training will be delivered on site at Sirus Automotive

More training information

  • At the end you will gain a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Qualification
  • This will include any IT Functional Skills as appropriate. The apprenticeship training will be delivered in the workplace, as you will receive visits from an assessor
  • The apprenticeship will also include a proportion of 20% Off The Job Training and a robust programme of Mandatory Apprentice Training provided by Sirus Automotive to include Workplace Professionalism and Equality & Diversity

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

Other requirements

Working in a warehouse you will be on your feet all day; you will be provided with a uniform and work boots for the position. Learning a bespoke trade from your work colleagues and training provider, can you please check that you can work the hours stated 06.00am - 16.30pm Monday to Thursday maybe do a travel to work plan to be there on time.
