Summary
The apprentice would work on projects for major Theme parks in the UK, Europe & USA, such as Alton Towers, LEGOLAND parks and Disneyland Resort Paris. The role involves many skills, welding and fabricating, assembly fitting mechanical and electrical, painting and paint preparation, working with different materials and site installation work.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Must have the ability to work in close contact with a workshop technician or member of the team.
- Must have their own form of transport or means to get to the premises for 7am each morning, through till 4pm and 12 noon on Fridays. Overalls and other PPE will be provided, safety boots need to be worn at all times, and allowance will be provided for boots/shoes.
- Has to be physically fit and able, the role will involve some lifting and carrying, some bench work, fetching from, and placing components on a Mezzanine floor.
- Ideally the apprentice will have some hand tools, if not we can arrange a scheme for some basic equipment.

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Worcester (WR4 9GN):
- Duration approximately 18 months,
- Block release training which includes 1 day per week in a classroom setting to cover practical and theory aspects working to complete the following qualifications:
- EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)
- EAL Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)
- Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed.
- There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.
