Summary

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Apprentice Electrical Power Network Engineer to join our team. Working alongside experienced engineers to support the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical power networks within the renewable energy sector.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Power Network Design Support: Assist senior engineers in the design and planning of electrical power networks for renewable energy projects, ensuring the networks meet all technical specifications and safety standards
  • Installation & Commissioning: Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical power network systems, including cabling, switchgear, transformers, and other electrical infrastructure
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Assist in the ongoing maintenance and fault diagnosis of electrical power networks, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely across renewable energy sites
  • Network Analysis & Modelling: Help with the analysis and modelling of electrical power networks, supporting the evaluation of system performance, load flow, and fault conditions
  • Documentation: Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, maintenance logs, and project documentation, ensuring accurate records are maintained for all work completed
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety standards and regulations, maintaining a focus on safe working practices at all times
  • Learning & Development: Engage in structured training and professional development programs to build technical knowledge and skills, particularly in power network engineering for renewable energy projects
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects, including supporting site work and field-based activities

Degree in:
