Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Picker Packer to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are accurately packed and prepared for shipment. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and a strong commitment to quality control.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Your main duties will include:

  • Accurately pick and pack products according to order specifications
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure all items meet company standards before packing
  • Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles, ensuring safe handling of materials
  • Maintain an organised work area, keeping packing supplies stocked and readily available
  • Operate warehouse management systems for tracking inventory and order fulfilment
  • Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve packing processes
  • Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times
  • Assist in stock management by reporting any discrepancies or damaged goods

  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Your training plan

  • In addition to gaining practical experience in the role, you will also attain an NVQ Level 2 qualification which will help start your career and give you an insight into the businesses processes and procedures
  • Our training is all completed remotely via teams with a development coach who will be available for support 24/7 and will arrange weekly/fortnightly meetings with you
  • You receive 20% off-the-job training during this apprenticeship which is included in your weekly working hours

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:
