Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Gaining a solid foundation in aircraft maintenance from some of the most expert professionals in the industry
- Working alongside our best-in-the-business engineering team on our fleet of state-of-the-art aircraft while developing your dexterity and communication skills
- Experiencing the day-to-day live operations at our Heathrow maintenance facility, as well as offsite learning and assessments (including exams in Maths, English and Physics)

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan
- The course runs for 24 month at our London Heathrow Hangar, and once completed, you’ll graduate as an A Licenced Aircraft Engineer
- After that, it’ll be time to put all your training into practice. The sky really is the limit

GCSE or equivalent in:

Other requirements
Your need good hand skills as you’ll be working on complex engineering parts - and each one of our hi-tech engines costs more than £30million! You’ll need to be comfortable with staying away and sharing accommodation with other apprentices during the offsite training programme. We provide modern facilities and will make sure you feel at home
