Summary

We are recruiting for an accounting apprentice working with a small experienced accounts team. You will be mentored and provided with both internal and external training leading to a formal qualification AAT certificate in Accounting level 2.

Wage
£14,722.50 a year

You will be expected to sign a training agreement for the reimbursement of training costs in the event that you leave the company.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Principal Responsibilities:

  • To assist with various administrative tasks essential to the operation of the Company’s finance department to include:
  • Assistance in preparation and entry of service invoices
  • Data entry to accounting systems
  • Sales order processing to enable prompt processing of sales invoices for goods supplied
  • Support in the resolution of customer and supplier queries
  • Assistance in the processing of purchase invoices
  • General administration and other tasks as reasonably required

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan

  • You will be required to attend Wiltshire college and University centre for 1 day per week during term time

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4/C or above)
  • Maths (grade 4/C or above)
