Summary
If you're someone who has a passion for working with figures, who’s data-driven and has a keen eye for detail, this role could be for you! You’ll work with our Homeownership Team. who'll share their knowledge and expertise with a focus on accounts. You’ll be working towards completing an AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
You’ll learn to manage and respond to day-to-day queries of all things homeownership and build up to becoming the go to person for our customers and colleagues about their service charge accounts and rent setting.
As part of the team, you’ll be helping our Homeownership Account Expert set, track, and balance the yearly service charge budget for our homeownership schemes. Working closely with the team, you’ll make sure budgets are spot-on and customers understand their charges, all while hitting targets and deadlines along the way.
In addition, you’ll also help keep our customer, property, and case records accurate, supporting the team by ensuring all data is well-organised and processed correctly.
Here’s what else you’ll be getting up to:
- Creating and maintaining accurate customer records
- Reviewing and calculating Homeownership service charges, ground rent and shared ownership rent
- Supporting our Homeownership Property Experts to resolve rent and service charge queries for customers
- Building great relationships with our teams within Yorkshire Housing - from our Customer Experience Team colleagues to our Income Officers
- From time to time, you’ll be speaking with our customers, so you’ll need to be able to explain the numbers in a way that’s easy for them to understand
- But that's not all - you’ll be mentored by our Homeownership Account Expert who will support you every step of the way on your journey with us. It’s your chance to learn, grow, and be part of something exciting!

- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- 4 subjects including English and Maths (grade Level 4 (C) or above)
